IT CLOSED, IT CLOSED, IT CLOSED!!!!

Ladies and Gents, your prayers must have been freely flowing, because his PDA (the valve we were worried about,) CLOSED!!!! No surgery for my boy!! We are so happy and so grateful, I can't even begin to describe!!!

His lung is reinflated, and looks just like it should. I talked to the nurse this morning, and she said that he was cranky, so they gave him some morphine. He had some REALLY bad swelling from being on his left side for 5 days, so my response to the crankiness was, "Shoot, if my arm was the size of Texas, I'd be cranky too!!!" I'll take the crankiness- I haven't heard a peep out of him since...well....EVER!!

So, this is good. The Dr will call me after he does rounds, but this is the update of the moment. We are so grateful!!

Woohoo! I seriously can't wait to hold him. Looking at him just isn't enough! And not to make light of the situation or anything, but I kind of think it's funny that the valve is called PDA, because I got mad at Rob last night for saying he hated PDA, as in public displays of affection (which is totally hypocritical of him to say because he is always so cheesey lovey dovey with me in front of his family.) But hooray for PDA!

YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!! Oh that is such a relief...when you wrote about the small percentage of babies for whom the meds work earlier, I knew...I just knew...that your little one would be among that small percentage... hoorah!!!

Hehe, you are so cute. First of all, I fall asleep during prayers alot of the time. Especailly this week. It has made me feel bad, but it has also been a blessing for me to fall asleep so easily because I have a hard time falling asleep when Lorin is gone. So I have actually been grateful for that this week. Second, YAY! I am so happy that everything is going as we hoped for HAL. I thought the same thing as Marissa...PDA...weird comparison but it crossed my mind as well. Ok, I will await more updates. I feel like I missed out on so much, I got on your blog & there were 2 more posts! That's what I get for going to the zoo. :)

Yay!!!!! It sounds like he's really on the road to beginning his life as a fully self-sufficient kid! Isn't modern medicine amazing?

Gotta love those 30-40% shots in the dark - makes you think that there really IS a greater hand out there guiding us all. That is great news - just keep swimming...just keep swimming...

First of all, thanks for the minute by minutes, because I am totally hooked on the story of HAL. Second, I would never ever spell your name Ann when I know perfectly well it is Anne. Third (non sequiter) I am flattered I made the commercial of SYTYCD.

YEAH! What incredibly awesome news! It's your far away sister here. Mateo wants to see if Heather and Anne's tummys are bigger like a berry berry bad tummy ache. He loves the pregnant shot of the two of you. It's his favorite.

HOORAY!!! Anne, I just read all of your recent blogs about baby Hal and am so happy to hear that he is doing okay. I am continually inspired by Hazen women and your ability to face life's struggles with so much faith! Your sweet little one will continue to be in my prayers.

Hi Anne. You don't know me - I'm Liz Edgren's sister, Susan. I ran into Marisa the other day, and when I took a look at her blog, I saw her post about you and your baby. So, I've been checking out your blog every few days to see how you guys are doing. I'm so glad your baby's doing so much better. We'll keep praying for him. Hang in there!

Thank goodness the valve closed! We're still praying for you guys and hope Hazen can go home to you soon.
