Happy New Year!

This year for New Year's, I wanted to do something a little closer to home, and something that wouldn't even require me getting dressed in order to go to. Aubrey had the perfect solution! She threw a little party at her house, and we walked downstairs, and partook of the festivities. It was actually a ton of fun! They played a ton of "Minute to Win It" type games, which was a really fun departure from the traditional board games that I like to play. There was one game that involved bubble gum at the bottom of a bowl of whipped cream. Let's just say that I was so, so close to throwing up. Brown Jason was video taping a bunch of it, and you actually catch my dry heaving on tape. I'm not sure that I'll be utilizing whipped cream anytime soon. We had a hard time staying up until 12! I guess we're turning into old people! We waited until midnight came, gave kisses all around, and then went to bed. 2010 was a great year for me, and I'm looking forward to all that 2011 has to offer.

Playing with his Kitchen

I think it's definitely safe to say that one of the highlights of Hazen's Christmas was the kitchen that we got him. It won present of the year, and it has really encouraged his cute little imagination to come out in spades! My mom got him an apron and a chef's hat to go with it, and he loves spending hours in the playroom "cooking dinner". The only downside? He'll never let me actually "eat" the food that he's made. "No, Mommy. You have to save it for later! It's too hot." Nevermind the fact that he'll get his "pans" out of the oven without an oven mitt. I feel like the TV has been on a lot less, and Haz has been using his imagination a lot more lately, which makes it so much more fun to be a parent.

Christmas Day

After we had our own Christmas morning at our house, we headed over to my parent's house for a day of fun! We missed Heidi and her family, but it was really fun having Rob and his family in town for the holiday. One of the highlights of Christmas at my parent's house, was buying both my Dad (a U of U grad), and Rob (an AVID BYU fan) U of U shirts. I know the chances of Rob ever wearing the shirt are few and far between, but maybe, just maybe he'll wake up and see the light one day!

Christmas is my Mom's birthday, so we had a delicious meal complete with tons of desserts. If you know anything about my family, you know that eating is one of our highlights, and Christmas definitely didn't disappoint. It was a great day, and it just reminds me how blessed I am to have such an incredible family that I love so much. Can't wait for next year!

Christmas Morning

This was the best Christmas of my entire life, I think! Not because of all of the gifts, though I did receive a few great things, but because of how on-board Haz was with everything. It was so much fun! There was so much jumping and screaming Christmas morning, because the kid was so dang excited. Loved it! We could have finished the morning at his stocking, and he would have been totally satisfied. Hazen had been asking for a robot garbage truck for MONTHS from Santa, and Santa delivered. The only downside? He is TERRIFIED of it. Absolutely, totally, and entirely horrified of this truck. I guess it's just something that we'll have to work on! Haz also got a new kitchen, and it is such a hit! It's so fun to hear him say that he's going to go make me dinner.

Jason and I also scored. I got a bunch of new makeup and brushes from M.A.C., which is such a win, and Jason picked me out a pair of the most killer pair of boots I think that I've ever owned! I got Jason a watch that he's been wanting for a while, so I think he's pretty satisfied. It was such a fun morning!
