Grilled Pizza

I don't know why I'm really even doing this feature anymore, other than for my own personal remembrance. The most recent grilled pizza that we made was called the Venezuelan. Grilled Chicken, Plantains, Coconut Sauce- it was absolutely delicious. Jason didn't like it as well as other types that we've made, but I thought it was a really good little change of pace. It's definitely a pizza that I'd like to make again. :)

What Happened to My Baby??

Every once in a while, I have a moment that reminds me that my little baby is growing up. The other day, we were hanging out with the Robison's after church, and Hazen went to sit next to Boston. We were all shocked at how huge he looked sitting next to the little guy! I've been so impressed with how gentle he is with Boston- he loves to look at him, and give him kisses, and gently pat his head. I can't handle how big my sweet little baby is getting, but I know it's just going to get worse. I love that little boy, and his buddy Boston, too!

Strawberry Days Pt. 2

Without doubt, the best part of Strawberry Days is the parade and the Firefighter Luncheon that takes place after. Last year, Jason was able to ride on the Fire Truck for the first time- this year, he had a little someone joining him! I was so nervous that Hazen wouldn't enjoy the ride because of the noise from the sirens, but we were both wrong! We packed him with a PB&J sandwich, a drink, and he enjoyed the entire parade! I was so proud of both of my boys!

I had a great deal out of everything, myself. I sat with Emily right on the street in front of the Station. When it would start to rain, we would pull our chairs back until we were right inside of the bay, but we still had front row seats to the Parade. The weather was sufficiently crappy, so we had to have our luncheon in the Bay, but it was still a great day. I love Strawberry Days!

Strawberry Days Pt. 1

Strawberry Days is one of the highlights of the year for our family. Unfortunately, we have had a CRAZY summer as far as weather is concerned, so it rained for all of Strawberry Days! Luckily, there was a cessation of rain long enough for Hazen to go on one ride with his cousins. Jason was at the station signing up for shifts for the summer, so he couldn't watch, but Hazen still had a great time. Literally the moment that the ride ended, the rain started pouring down!

Abbie was a great helper and buckled Hazen into the seat, and made sure that he was safe while he enjoyed the ride. Hopefully next year the weather will be better- but even if it's not, Strawberry Days will remain one of the best things that happens all year!

Summer+Studying=Fun?

I'm sure my lack of blogging has taught you that this semester is a killer. I have more reading than I ever thought possible, and it's really getting in the way of my documenting my life via the blog. I have a huge Pharmacology test coming up on Tuesday, and my school peeps and I are desperate not only to study, but to get some time outside! So, we came up with the best idea EVER! Study session by the pool. While we were sweating all over our notecards, it was so refreshing to be outside and not cooped up indoors!

What not to Wear??

I have more friends than I can name who own hot pink lip gloss. I recently took a plunge and purchased some of my own. Tell me friends, am I too, another victim of a fashion trend gone wrong?

Dinosaur Museum

A few weeks ago, Hazen and I took a trip with Grandma, Grandpa, and Heather's kids to the Dinosaur Museum. Hazen had been there before, but it was my first time. We went while Jason worked at the Fire Department. True to Hazen form, there was a lot of growling. I'm not talking about whining, but serious, "I'm a dinosaur" growling. He was so excited he couldn't stop running around. Abbie was a great help with holding his hand and showing him the correct places that he needed to go.

One of the coolest features of the museum is a small water feature that allows the kids to build dams, and construct little colonies for their dinosaurs. Neither Hazen or Max liked the feeling of the sand in their hands, but both Abbie and Mia were are happy as could be! School has really hindered my ability to hang out with Heather's kids as much as I used to be able to, but this little outing was just the escape both Hazen and I needed!
