First Dr. Appt

We had our first Dr appt on Thursday. It was delightful. Well, actually it was a little stressful because carting all of his O2, his carrier, and then my crap around is fairly exhausting. Not to mention that the Dr office was hotter than Hades and my shoe broke halfway through, forcing me to walk around the office 1/2 barefoot. All other things considered, it was just fine. Jason was able to come with me, which was GREAT, because I have to go back on Tuesday alone, which I am dreading. It will not be an easy feat. Here are some pictures. His outfit was REALLY cute, but it was warmer than I thought outside, so he had to lose the jacket, because he was sweating.

He is still sleeping in our bed. When I asked the Dr what to do about that, he told me to get a bassinette. Thanks, Doc, you mean the one that I almost trip over every time I try to leave the room? Then, he told me to roll up a blanket and put in there. Thanks Doc, you mean the one that's already in there? He gave me about 5 other things to do, all things that we've BEEN doing, so, it looks like the boy and I are going to continue our sleepover. He's cute though, and doesn't snore too bad, so I'll let it be.

That is what you need to get. Yes, it is as bulky as the bassinet, but essentially it becomes part of your bed, but also keeps baby safe and close to you at the same time. That's what we will be getting whenever we have babies.

I would suggest looking on ebay for one, as you can get a way better price. But if money is a reason why you don't end up getting it, let Mitch and I know, we will be glad to help out and I bet some other friends on here would too!

Let me know if it is something you are looking into. I am so glad the doc's appointment went well. Don't worry about Tuesday, you can do it!!! Go Anne!! What always works for me, for a colicky baby, is to either walk outside where there are lots of low trees with leave blowing in the breeze, or to put their little toes under a faucet of warm, running water.

Have fun!!!

There's one on ebday for 60 bucks that has never been used. Also, google "mini cosleeper", because they have one that is small and portable, and sits in the middle of your bed for baby. It's very little, but it does keep baby from being smushed or from getting under too many blankets.

Get the baby out of the bed. For all of that hogwash about S.I.D.S., I would be more concerned about A.S.D.B. (Anne smashed da baby).

I was always concerned about SIDS because I had a family memeber that it effected. I don't know if that is at all why you like sleeping with him, I loved it, too! I had Polly in the bassinett by our bed & would fall asleep with my hand in the basinett making sure she was breathing. :) If you want to use ours, you are more than welcome, we can work out a time to bring it by. From the sounds of your post, I think you may already have one, but the offer is always there for anything you need. You look great & so happy! Yay!

Baby and Mom are both adorable. Do you ever take a hit of that oxygen just for a little upper? People pay a lot of money at those "Oxygen bars" and you are getting it free!

Hey Anne it's Amanda from Logan. Congratulations on bringing that beautiful boy home. I had my baby just a few days before you, we had a girl. And don't worry, she would only sleep in bed with me for about 3 weeks. We've finally been able to move her to her bassinet. And my first Dr. appointment alone...she exploded poop all down my shirt and pants, and shoes. That was quite the experience. Isn't motherhood great! You look so happy in you pictures. Congratulations again.

Thats' the best dressed baby I've seen in a long time! It's one of the best parts of having babies, they have no say in what you dress them in. It's fun playing "Dolly Dress-Up" as an adult.

Love the picture of HAL all squashed up in his carrier with his tongue out and the oxygen mask. that is priceless. How long does he have to have O2, sayeth the doctor? Does he get all his immunization shots despite his medical traumas?
Can you believe he is home????!!!

YOU look terrific. Adorable. And happy. And the blue and brown jacket is too cute. Make sure he doesn't grow out of it very quickly. Take Amanda's advice, bring two blankets to the next appointment. Ew.
