A Photoshoot with Adorable.

Hazen and I took pictures tonight before he went to bed. He is such a cute little cuddlebug, and he also REALLY gets a kick out of the moments after the flash go off. I wish that I had a fake-out flash, because I know the money shots happen RIGHT after it!



Hazen is the light of our lives. I know I say that enough, but I hope hope hope one day when he's looking at these posts (like he'll give a crap....), he will know how much his mama adores him.

A Personal Goal

So, I hit a little weight-loss milestone for myself this morning. I'm not going to say what it was, but I'm excited about it! It's like it's been hanging over my head, and now, I feel so happy! I've got a long way to go, but I'm working hard at it. In these next few weeks, I need to start training for a run I want to do in the summer.

I'm not posting this for accolades and for you to tell me how great I am, but more so for accountability. If I have people who know what I'm working at, I can't go out and eat a pizza by myself, now can I? Keep me accountable, peeps!

I have a nasty head-cold today, so I can't think of anything witty/charming to say. However, I just wanted to post these darling pictures of Hazen and I reading. He is so smart!!! We took the cutest video clip of him reading a book, but I'm jabbering in the background, so it's kind of stupid. I'll get on shooting another video soon, though!

**Update on Bed--- I'm sitting on the bed RIGHT NOW, supported by metal frames. You give it to 'em where it hurts, and they will rectify the problem!

Thanks for Nothin' RC Willey...

Look at crazy eyes. He's mad that the first thing he saw when he got home from work was his brand new bed falling apart....

Remember how I mentioned that we got a KILLER deal on a bedroom set from RC Willey? Remember how I was thrilled because I felt like a REAL adult who had a bed frame? Well, Remember how other Jason was pointing out a feature on the bed to my Jason, TOUCHED it, and then it fell apart?


Yeah. That was awesome.


Remember how one of the side beams was a good 6 inches too long, and the boys had to take an axe to it so it would fit? I bet you don't remember how Jason called RC Willey and "gave 'em hell!". He did. Needless to say, they are supposed to be here tomorrow with steel supports (They gave us janky wood ones that don't even line up)



RC Willey, you messed with the wrong family. Do you honestly think that we'll roll over on this one???

**For what it's worth, it was FREAKISHLY entertaining watching the boys play Bob the Builder. Do you notice my BRAND new kitchen chairs playing the part of a sawhorse? We need a garage.

An Orphan's Thanksgiving!

This year, it was Jason's parent's year to have us for Thanksgiving. Seeing as they are living in Paraguay on an 18 month temple mission for our church, we decided to stay here. THEN, my parents decided to jump ship and go to Florida to be with my mom's favorite daughter...erm, my sister, Heidi who lives in Orlando. Heather and I were not to be deterred! Brad's mom, Wilma flew in for the weekend, and Heather invited over some great friends from her ward, the Otto's.



Jason and I were in charge of a Pear Gorgonzola salad and Stuffing. The pear salad was gross, so I didn't bring it, and we made the stuffing. (Read, I napped while Jason made it all. Aren't you jealous I nabbed Jason, and you didn't????) Our dinner was a sight from heaven! Brad and Heather made the turkey on their super-duper grill on the rotisserie. It might be one of my favorite turkeys I've ever had! We had so much food, wonderful appetizers, and about 35 pies!! Heather decorated the table SUPER cute, (I'm actually kicking myself for not getting pictures of it!), and the children were delightful!

This was Hazen's first Thanksgiving not as a blob, and he did not disappoint! He gobbled up turkey, as per usual, as he's a carnivore like his daddy!

Thanksgiving was the perfect kick-off to a fabulous holiday season! There's something different about the Holidays when you have a family of your own. Here's to many more!!

Black Friday!

Happy with our purchases

Thursday night, I did something I didn't know that I ever would. I stayed out all night to become one of "those" people, and shopped Black Friday like it had never been shopped before. Now, if you're around me frequently, you can attest to the fact that I LOVE a good deal. If I can stick it to the man, I will.

We started at 10 pm at the ModBod crazy sale. Since ModBod makes me feel like a fat cow, I actually didn't buy anything from there, but purchased a rockin' jacket instead. Just you wait, when you see it, you might die. From there, we went to the South Towne mall, where Utah's finest were awaiting us. They REALLY came out of the woodwork, seeing that the mall was open all night. We killed a few hours, I bought 2 pairs of shoes (also Rockin'), and we were on our way to Denny's, because where the crap else are you going to get Pancakes at 3 am?

Post Denny's, we went to Kohl's. At this point, it's 3:30 am, and Kohls was set to open in 1/2 hour. The doors opened, we merged, because we were lame and didn't want to wait in line, and made a run for it like a bat out of heck. I had to have my vacuum. I was disappointed to learn that the vacuum that had been advertised wasn't even there; as in it didn't seem to exist. So, I dried my tears, and picked up a Hoover Windtunnel that was advertised for 165- or I thought it was anyway!

We wait in line for almost an hour to pay for our stuff, and once I finally got there, my vacuum rang up at $260, but on sale for $200. I threw a pretty decent sized stink, long story short, and the 17 year old kid gave it to me for $140 because he was scared. WEehoooo!

Next, we went to Target, where I got about 7 kids movies for $3 each. Hazen is getting to the point where I can let the TV raise him, and I fully intend on doing just that. KIDDING!! I also got a few toys for him, and Aubrey got her Dyson vacuum.

At this point, it's 6:45, and we went to RC Willey. This was my big-ticket item. They had 25 6-piece bedroom sets for $499. I HAD to get this! So, we waited outside in the rain for an hour and a half, sprinted into the store, and then came out victorious!! (This was after waiting in line for 2 hours to actually pay for the dang item!) It comes today, and I can't be more excited!!!!

Black Friday was a fun experience, especially because I got to go with my best bud, Aubrey. Next year? I don't think I'll be going to Salt Lake, and you better believe I'll be at Toys R Us at opening!!

Really Tired girls at 11 am

Over the River...

Tonight, we took a long, tedious trek to obtain a Christmas Tree. We were eager to go to a lot to find the best tree money could buy. This is Hazen's 2nd Christmas, but 1st Christmas not as a blob. This tree needed to be AMAZING! Since gas is so cheap, we were willing to drive as far as necessary to get the tree of our dreams.

Hazen loved being in the wilderness. Even I was in my element!!





Yeah, ok, We went 1 mile down the road to Smiths. $25 bucks later, we got ourselves a tree that wasn't dead, wasn't too tall, and I feel pretty confident should it fall on my baby, it won't kill him. Done and done!
