Wednesday was Ashley's last day here. :o( Wednesday can also be called: The Day I kept on trying to insure my child.

We went to Thanksgiving Point gardens before Ashley went to the airport. It was beautiful! My only complaint was that it was so hot!! We walked around for a while, and then Ashley had to leave. Since Heather was going to the airport anyway, she took her while I stayed for a while longer with Abbie.
Enter Project:Injure HAL. First, let me emphasize that I wasn't really trying to hurt HAL. However, we were just not having a great day. While HAL was playing in the fountain with Max, he fell, and totally banged up his chin. He got over it pretty quickly, and he actually had a war wound to show for it. After the Gardens, we rested for a while, and then we went to the PG Pool.
Heather came too, and encouraged me to take him down the water slide, something that I had seen many other mothers do. Word to the wise: Don't take your 11 month old down a water slide unless you're SURE you can stick the landing. I'm sure you can guess what happened. Needless to say, it's 4 days later, and I still feel horrible for almost drowning my baby. To top it all off? I was hooking him into his carseat, and I somehow managed to clip his lip into the harness. Mother of the year? Party of one.

Tuesday
Tuesday morning Ashley's old roommate, Courtnie, came over to the house and we all visited for a while. Courtnie just had her second baby, a boy, about 7 months ago, and the whole family looks great!
After, we met up with Aubrey, and Jason, Ashley, HAL, and I went to Cafe Rio. I'm loving that Chile Lime Rice they have! We had to take it to go, so that we could be there on time for...
Our pedicure!!! We went to Mandalyn Academy, and got a fab pedicure. I even got my eyebrows waxed in the stall next to a man receiving a bikini wax. AWKWARD.....
I really enjoyed my "day off" while Jason was home. Unluckily for him, the sprinkler line outside of our kitchen and bathroom burst. I'm so glad that he was home, because I would have been screwed otherwise if it were just me. I got home, Ashley went to the pool, and I took a nap. It was awesome!! I miss Jason when he's gone. :o(

Monday

Monday was a fun and busy day! Ashley and I got up, and took HAL to the Neurologist, Dr. Benedict. She was a jerk. If you're reading this, Dr, yeah, I think you're a jerk. She walks in the room (we were 4 minutes late, because the place he was being seen was out in the boonies), and says, " You were 20 minutes late, I have other appts, so I'm not going to be able to really spend time with your baby." I go, "Uh...our appt was at 9....". She counters with, "Exactly". Now, just so you know, if you think you're going to get away with exaggeration, don't try it with the queen. So I respond (totally snotty), "Well fine then, get to it instead of wasting your time with me!"
Anyway, she was not the most pleasant woman I've met in my life, but long story short, we can sit back, relax, and breath a sigh of relief for the next year or two, because as far as she's going to be able to tell until he starts to talk, he's doing just fine!! What a blessing! She said that he might not be the most coordinated athlete, and he might have a tough time with reading and math, but it looks like he'll be fine! Of course, I'll continue to keep my eyes open, but I feel really good about this in the meantime.

After naps, we dropped by Heather's house to play on their water slide. HAL was cold, but for the most part, as long as Mia wasn't trying to drown him, had a good time!

Monday night was so much fun! Pleasant Grove City had a huge party to celebrate the "Fiscal New Year" (something I had never celebrated before)/Kick off being a Full-time department without Lindon. They went to Smith Bro. for steak and we had a huge meal full of steak, corn, potatoes, rolls, and Klondike bars! What a feast!!

After the dinner at the park, we headed over to the Watergarden Cinemas where we had rented out the theater for "Get Smart". It was a cute movie. Ashley, Jason and I rode over on the ambulance with Aubrey driving! It was my first time ever in the back of an ambulance ride, and it was a ton of fun- albeit 98 degrees back there.

At Midnight, after the movie, they set off fireworks, and then made a bonfire to burn the PG/Lindon shirts. Most of the guys tore off their blue shirts to reveal the PG Fire shirts underneath. How neat that Jason and I were able to be a part of such a monumental occasion! The fireworks were right across the street, and it was the closest/scariest fireworks display I'd ever seen! We got home at 1 am, grateful for such a fun and wonderful day!

Sunday

Sunday came, and we woke up to go to church. We were almost on time! After church, we put HAL down for a nap while Ashley and I got dinner ready for our friends, Marc and Lori Johnson to come over!

We made Pulled Pork, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, and had Chocolate Chip Cookies for dessert. Hazen was loving all of the attention he was getting from everyone.
After dinner, we sat around and talked for a really long time! Jason got back from work, and showed off his new turnouts for work (new post coming about that later). All of the girls had to try them on- they were really, really hot! Marc and Lori left and I showed Ashley the beauty that is clipping coupons.

Saturday

Saturday was such a busy day! We woke up and hung out for a while. Ashley went for a walk/run around the neighborhood while I cleaned up around the house and hung out with boy. After we both got ready for the day, our friend from Russia, Kirsten came over. We had so much fun laughing and talking over lunch! Isn't it great how you can meet such wonderful people and then be friends with them for so long afterwards?
After our visit, and after Hazen had woken up from naps, we went to the pool. The pool was the perfect temperature, and the weather wasn't TOO hot, so it was really nice! Hazen really enjoyed it; especially the part when he accidentally rolled down the small grass hill we were sitting on. Actually, he got little grass cuts, and wasn't too thrilled!

We came home, and then made plans to go into the canyon with Heather and Brad and the kids. It was so much fun! We had burgers, watermelon, and smores, of course! I also gave Hazen his first oreo! He only had the chocolate part- one half, but he sure made a mess of EVERYTHING!! We love that we live so close to the canyon- we definitely don't utilize it as much as we should, and it's so beautiful!
When we got home, Hazen fell asleep so quickly! Ashley sure was wearing him out!

Friday
For any of you who have wondered why I haven't blogged at all in almost a week, it's because my best friend for almost 15 years was visiting us!! We were having too much fun to do something silly like blog!!
Ashley flew in at 11:15. Hazen and I were waiting for her. I almost cried I was so excited!
We went to lunch at Kneaders, and then sat in our living room and talked for hours! Hazen was slightly cranky because he hadn't gotten the naps that he was used to, but Ashley was very patient!!
After Jason got home from work, we met up with Aubrey and Jason and went to Goodwood for dinner. It was so yummy but both Ashley and I were still pretty full from Kneaders! After dinner we came back to the house and laughed and talked until midnight!! I can't say how happy I was to see my best buddy after over a year of going without!!

I am the mother of a Crawler
Is it possible to feel like this simultaneously?

I do. Please, let me begin by saying that I am counting my blessings. I have a darling little boy who is hitting milestone after milestone, and I couldn't be more grateful and proud. However.... It's really hot. And Hazen is making me really tired.

We've been having a BLAST spending almost every day at the pool. Hazen is good for about an hour, which I think is a pretty long time! I'm putting him in a Mom and Tot swim class because he keeps on dunking his head in the water, and I need to know what's ok, ya know? Sometimes instead of getting him dressed after our swim, we just throw him in one of our shirts, as is evidenced above!
So, back to the exhaustion that is my child:
Yesterday, I found him eating trash. He really has this puppy dog thing down.

When he takes baths, he's realized that he knows how to crawl in the tub. Real safe, Hazen. He even likes to dunk his face in the water and stand on his knees to knock off my shaving gel and dad's shampoo. (*Side note: Why dad needs shampoo is still beyond me after over 2 years of marriage)

TODAY, he went down the scary hallway all by himself until he reached the end of it, where the playroom sits. He's only been in there once, which was yesterday, so the fact that he remembered what was down there has been amazing me all day. What a smart baby I have! He played down there for about 45 minutes. As long as I heard him banging on things, I felt ok with him being down there!
In other news, Hazen had his first non-hospital related blood loss today. We were at Heather's house, and she threw him across the room. Kidding- he was trying to pull himself up on something, he slipped, and then split his lip pretty good. It was really sad- he had a fat lip for a while. He recovered from it pretty quickly though. Later on, he also was pushing on his highchair (yes, Mama forgot to lock the wheels), it slipped out, and he bonked his head on the tile floor. He now has a goose egg, and I have lost hearing in my right ear due to out of control screaming for a good 15 minutes. I'll be a more prepared mom tomorrow. Seriously, his getting into everything happened over night! He's so much fun though!!
