Hazen's first field trip just so happened to be at the Fire Station. We talked about it for a few days, so by the time it came around, Hazen was more than excited! Heather and I even made sure to dress in matching PG Fire shirts, so that was fun, too. The boys started off their field trip with coloring some special fire dog pictures. After that, they did a relay that practiced how they would escape from a fire. It was really cool for me to see Hazen interacting with other kids. He's probably the youngest one in th class, but for the most part, he did really well. Next, they went to watch a really epic video that was taped sometime in the late 80's. Hazen still loved it because they showed a few fire trucks. Finally, it was time to walk up to the Fire Station. This part was HILARIOUS. The firefighter that was there was trying to explain what to do if there is a fire in your house, and Hazen was literally inches away from his face trying to talk to him. There was a group of about 25 people wondering what the crap was going on, and who this kid was that was interrupting everything. It was so cute. Hazen and Jason go there so frequently that he probably feels like he owns he place. There was a bit of a tantrum that occurred afterwards that I would rather not remember forever, so we need to work on that for future field trips! It was still a lot of fun, and I look forward to all of these fun school memories that we are going to be making.
