Hazen's First Day of School!

It's so weird, because it seems that only a few months ago, Hazen still seemed so young. Within the past 3 months, he has grown up so much, and so quickly. He is so much fun to be around, and he really gets a lot of things. Sending him to preschool was a big step in the direction of being a full-blown "big boy". I was a little nervous about sending him to school, but we talked it up a lot beforehand. Now, I can definitely say that I'm glad that I did, because he LOVES it. His teacher's name is Miss Heidi, and he really likes her a lot. The first day of school I was in the Hurst Review, but I was able to come home for long enough to get him dressed and walk him over to the school. I had accidentally purchased two of the same shirt last year, so Hazen and Max were little twinners. MAN did they look adorable!! The best part of my day was getting the phone call from Hazen after school talking excitedly about how much he loved his first day of school. There are still some tweaks that we need to work out, namely, getting him not to hit some kids at school, but I understand that it's a learning curve, and it's the whole reason that he's in school in the first place!

Last Days of School

I can hardly believe it, but school came to an end. It both seems so long ago, AND so short ago that I started, and I can hardly believe how far I've come in those 19 months. Hazen has grown up so much, both Jason and I have learned so much, and I am well on my way to becoming a registered nurse. This past semester was ROUGH. Mainly because I didn't think the teachers we had were very good, and I was just SO burnt out. Being so burnt out really takes the fun out of a lot of things. After finals, we had a 4 day review put on by a company called Hurst. It was seriously so helpful!! It's content based, which was great for allowing us to basically review the most important things from school in a matter of days. Finally passing all of my classes was such a relief! It's like such a weight from my shoulders has been lifted, and I can finally move on to my next chapter in life! I've made some really great friends, but I look forward to moving on!

Potty Training

As opposed to doing things early, we decided to wait to potty train Hazen until the very last possible moment. We wanted to put Hazen in preschool, but he's not allowed to be in diapers for it. The final moment arrived, and it just so happened to be during my last week of nursing school! Instead of studying for finals, I was obsessing over my kid's potty habits. I must say, for the most part, Hazen understood peeing on the potty really quickly. Pooping? Well, that's another story. A month later, and he's still pooping his pants. BUT, he has yet to have any accidents at school, which is really all that mattered to me. Hazen is such a good boy, and is so eager to please, so watching him succeed at this has been really fun! We still have a ways to go until we can consider his potty training complete, but we're getting much closer!

Meet the Teacher

It's absolutely mind-blowing to think about how much Hazen has grown up in the past few months. One of the most glaringly obvious signs of that is the fact that he's starting preschool. Right after Jason and I took our last final for nursing school, we rushed home to Hazen to take him to his "meet the teacher". Hazen looked like such a big boy! I couldn't get over how adorable he was, and how eager he was for his chance to go to school. There were some moments when I was unsure if I should enroll Hazen in school this year, or if we should wait another year, but after seeing how excited he is about it, I'm so glad that we decided to do it this year. My baby is growing up!

Vroommmmm

Hazen is ALL BOY. Ever since his birthday, he can't get enough of playing with his trucks and planes. It makes me SO HAPPY to peek in on him, and hear the TV off, but Hazen making his cute little truck sounds. That kid is a winner! It even keeps him entertained for longer in the morning before he feels it necessary to wake us up. YAY!

Crossfit Party

One of the best things about Crossfit is the fact that we have become really good friends with the other members. Being that it's a small gym, we find as many opportunities as possible to do fun things. A few weeks ago, we celebrated the end of summer with a pool party and BBQ. I had a great time, and I was able to avoid being thrown in the pool, thank goodness!
