A few weeks ago, we utilized our year pass to the Hogle Zoo, and the Robisons, the Lee's, and Cousin Max made an afternoon trip! The weather was absolutely perfect for a little outing. Not too hot, and not too cold, and the boys LOVED the zoo! I can't remember the last time that I had been to the Zoo, so I enjoyed it, as well. My favorite part was the monkeys. Max liked the Alligator, and Hazen liked the Tiger. (Rawr!!!) Boston liked the snacks. Afterwards, we went to the Cheesecake Factory. Even though all of the babies missed their naps, they were so good, and we look forward to going to the Zoo again soon!

He Who Rules the Roost
Hazen basically rules the roost. The other day I walked into the kitchen, and I saw him stealing some chocolate chips. When I asked him what he was doing, he informed me that he was "making dinner". Having him be this self-sufficient works really well when he wakes up early in the morning and I'm not ready to get up, so he goes and helps himself to anything he wants. Sometimes this backfires slightly when I wake up to crackers all over the living room floor, but I sure love him, nonetheless!

Cooper's Run
A few weeks ago, I decided to run my second 5k of the summer. It was in honor of a little boy from Orem who was killed last year. As a tribute, his family organized a 5k, which was a really special way to celebrate the year anniversary of his death. This 5k was much more difficult for me than the one at the beginning of the summer, mainly because it was FIFTY THOUSAND DEGREES outside. Seriously. I don't think I've ever run when it was so hot! This 5k took me a minute and a half longer than the one at the beginning of the summer, which sucks, but it was still a really great experience for me. I was able to run it with a lot of friends from Crossfit, which made it a lot more fun. Even better, Jason and Hazen were waiting for me at the finish line. I realize that I look pretty AWESOME (hahahaha, not) running, but it really made it easy for me to gun it at the end when I heard my little boy cheering me on! Great race, can't wait for my next one!

Birthday Party at Grandma's (With a Bagillion Pictures)
For Hazen's actual birthday, we went to my parent's house for dinner. One of the most amazing feat's of the day was that I wrapped his presents. With ribbon. For those who really know me, they know that this is amazing, because I HATE WRAPPING PRESENTS. It's just not fun for me. It takes forever, it makes me nauseous, and my presents never look as good as the presents of those who actually give a crap. I digress......Hazen sure was a lucky boy. Grandma and Grandpa were there, along with the Danielson Cousins, Aubrey, Jason and Boston, and our friend Sabrina. Hazen has a big, fat crush on Sabrina, it's really funny. Hazen was lucky enough to get a cute Handy Manny shirt and refrigerator magnets from Grandma and Grandpa, a KILLER Emergency Station complete with Ambulance, Fire Truck, Helicopter, and Police car from the Danielsons, an Aqua Doodle from the Robisons, and some cars, a Memory game, and a new BIKE from Mom and Dad.
*Side Note: I had to make some grumpy calls to Heather after Hazen received his present from her, because I couldn't get him to eat, sleep, DO ANYTHING other than play with his Emergency station. A month later, and he's still obsessed! This was such a fun year for a birthday, though. Last year, I don't really think that Hazen really "got" it. Sure, he was happy to get presents, but this year, he was so thrilled to sing "Happy Birthday" over and over, and he kept on running through the house screaming, "THIS IS THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!!" As a parent, there's seriously nothing better than to hear that your little boy is happy!
After dinner, we had cupcakes Ice Cream for dinner. The boys ate and played on the stairs with their cars. It was so cute! Then, we just played catch and ran around in the backyard of Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was one of those perfect, fun, summer evenings. We sure are lucky to have such wonderful friends and family so close. If Hazen is anything, he is blessed.
