Nakey-Time!

Hazen has been really embracing any moment that he has to be naked lately. Since he's never peed on me, and generally shows pretty good bladder control, I go with it. When I change his diaper, he loves to pat his belly and scream, "Mommy! I'm naked!!" I'm not sure if this is a bad thing, but it sure is funny!

Lately, after baths, he's been running out to the living room in his towel and asking so sweetly for a story. I ask him if we should put his jammies on, to which he responds, "Mmmmnope. Naked!" So, we have nakie storytime. He is so cute and snuggly and will let me read to him for close to an hour with just his towel keeping him warm. We blow through books and sing songs and have the best Mommy/Baby time. I don't know what I'll do when he doesn't want to snuggle with me anymore, but in the meantime, I eat every second of it up!

Log Haven

For my birthday date with Jason, we decided to get dressed up and head up Millcreek Canyon to Log Haven, a restaurant that came highly recommended by my parents. We knew it would probably be good, but didn't think it could possibly live up to the claims by my parents that it was "the best meal they'd ever had in a restaurant".

We were wrong. Everything about this restaurant was delicious and amazing. The ambiance, the "palate tantalizer", and every morsel of food that we put in our mouths. We started off with a palate tantalizer which was some sort of rice and cheese thing. I don't know, all I know was how it tasted, and it was incredible. For appetizers, we splurged, and got Lamb Lollipops, which was basically mini rack of lamb. I wanted to gnaw on the bone for the rest of the night- it was delicious! Jason and I each got salads. I got one with an Heirloom Tomato and homemade ricotta and pesto, and Jason got Heirloom lettuce, sauteed mushrooms, and a Truffle vinaigrette. Every bite was incredible. Have you ever wanted to cry because the food you were eating was so delicious? Oh, right...neither have I......

For our main courses, I had a Bison steak, and Jason had Pork. Time has caused me to forget the specifics of each dish, but they were incredible! For dessert, we had a little bit of heaven on a plate. It was dark, milk, and white chocolate yumminess with a Pomegranate sorbet on top, and Pomegranate reduction under. I DID cry over this course. Holy crap. Take me back to eat here. It's my love language!

It was so great to have an evening alone with Jason, and Hazen was great for the babysitter! We laughed a ton and enjoyed one another's company. I love birthdays!

A Birthday Party at Spark!

So, I had a birthday. It was a week ago, but it was a good one. I'm now officially 25, and let me tell you, I feel super old and sophisticated. Ok, not really, but I'm already thinking that I'm really going to dig the mid to late-twenties thing. The early twenties was a time for me to figure out where I was going in my life, and I consider this era a time of execution.

I spent the entire day at school, but after coming home, it was time to party! I met up with Aubrey, Amanda, my Mom, Heather, Heidi, Kirsten and Sam at Spark Lounge in Provo. We promptly ordered our fancy-pants drinks, (I had a non-alcoholic Mojito), and received our appetizers. We couldn't stop laughing the entire time! Unfortunately, there was a private party, so my birthday party was ended prematurely. I was really disappointed, because I was having so much fun! In good news, I was later contacted by either the owner or the Manager, and they told me they would send me a gift card to return to Spark at a later date. I'm still waiting to get it, but I hope it comes soon! Jason and I need another date night!!

Thanks girls for giving me a perfect birthday! I'm so grateful to have such wonderful friends to spend special times with.

Hazen's First Movie!

A few weeks ago, Jason and I decided to take Hazen to the dollar theatre to see his first big screen movie. We chose "Up", and crossed our fingers that he would be good. After paying $4.50 for the tickets, and an additional $4.50 for popcorn, we settled into our seats after the previews had already begun. (Hence no pictures of us in our seats). We were playing with fire, seeing as the movie started at 1:15, and Hazen usually naps at 2 or 2:30, but we decided to go anyway, and if he started to fuss, we would leave- no biggie!

The credits started to roll, and immediately all 3 of us were entranced! Up is such a phenomenal movie! I hate seeing movies more than once, but I think that I will definitely buy it. It's the type of message that I'm happy to have in my home. Hazen snuggled up with his Daddy and barely moved the entire movie! He happily munched on popcorn, and it wasn't until 5 minutes before the movie ended that he started to get upset, but it was only because he was so tired!

I'm glad that we can add going to the movies to our list of "approved family activities". Hazen was great, and I had such a nice time spending an afternoon with my two boys.

My Home Makeover: The Living Room

Whilst testing paint colors, I inadvertently painted a green man on the wall.

One of the benefits of being anal retentive the entire semester is that come finals week, I don't have a whole lot to stress about! I've prepared myself, and final's week is kind of a week I can relax a little bit. This semester, I decided to paint! Jason was working, so when he was gone, Hazen and I went to Home Depot to buy paint colors, and then after Hazen was in bed, I painted!

I decided on a deep chocolate brown for the living room. It actually looks more of a deep, deep plum than brown, but I am in love. I think it's one of the best colors that ever existed on a wall. It brings so much depth to the wall, and I love it! I also had Aubrey print me a bunch of the pictures that we took in the Lavender fields (wow, I need to post that!), and I bought a new custom frame that really is beautiful! Jason was impressed with my painting skills, and I think the whole thing has come together and looks great!

What do you think?

"Wilcome Choclate Lovever's!" :)

A few weeks ago, Heather decided to have a Chocolate Party. In true Heather fashion, everything was homemade, delicious, and beautifully displayed! Amanda and I went, and ate as many things as we could without becoming totally sick. My hands down favorite were the mini-chocolate mousses in chocolate cups. DELICIOUS!! Something I really admire about Heather is her constant creativity, and then willingness to execute. She's not appreciated nearly as much as she should be, and I hope that all of her friends realize HOW GOOD they've got it to have her in their lives.

Thanks Heath, for the amazing chocolate treats! I can't wait until your next party! I love you!

Party at the Lee's!!

When I was recovering from my surgery, Amanda and Micah came over to make me dinner, and entertain me. Well, I KNEW, but had never experienced firsthand that both Micah and Amanda are quite the glow-stickers. So, we turned off the lights, bumped the techno, and had a very entertaining evening. You might not think the video is that funny, but it cracks me up EVERY time I watch it. Hazen loved the glowsticks. He would sit on our laps and watch the show, and then liked to give his input and show us his moves, as well.

So, if you're ever feeling sad and lonely, chances are, there's a rave or something going on at my house. Come on over!
